Front Desk Agent – Full Time

Location: Yellowknife, Northwest Territories
The Explorer Hotel is seeking a friendly, professional, and customer focused Front Desk Agent to join our team on a full time basis, with a guarantee of 32 hours per week. This is a highly people facing role suited for individuals who take pride in delivering excellent guest experiences in a fast paced hospitality environment.

Position Summary
The Front Desk Agent is the first point of contact for our guests and plays a key role in shaping their overall experience. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and confidence using hotel systems, particularly reservation based platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner
- Perform guest check ins and check outs accurately
- Handle room reservations, modifications, cancellations, and billing inquiries
- Operate and maintain property management and reservation systems
- Respond to guest requests, questions, and concerns with professionalism and care
- Provide information about hotel services, amenities, and the Yellowknife area
- Process payments, balance transactions, and follow cash handling procedures
- Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments as needed
- Maintain accurate guest records and daily logs
- Support overall front desk operations to ensure smooth daily workflow
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous customer service experience is required; hotel or hospitality experience is a strong asset
- Experience with reservation based or customer service computer systems preferred (PMS experience an asset)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfortable in a people facing, service oriented role
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a busy environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Reliable, professional, and team oriented
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
Schedule
- Full time position
- Guaranteed minimum of 32 hours per week
- Shifts may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
