The STREAM lab (Supporting Transformation through Research, Evidence and Action in Mental Health) is currently seeking one (1) temporary full time Senior Research Analyst to lead and assist the design, implementation, and evaluation of rapid evidence reviews and other knowledge translation products. The incumbent may prepare protocols for rapid reviews, coordinate the conduct of rapid reviews, conduct structured and unstructured literature searches, create data entry forms, complete data collection and analysis, conduct interviews, and lead or contribute to the development of written reports and other products, under the supervision of the manager of knowledge mobilization.
STREAM is located at Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care in Penetanguishene, Ontario, and is affiliated with the Waypoint Research Institute (WRI), and with Waypoint’s Partnerships and Strategy division. STREAM works closely with mental health and addictions system decision-makers in Ontario to support evidence-informed decision-making. We use rapid review methods, along with other approaches such as jurisdictional scans and key informant interviews, to address topics and challenges raised by health system partners. We synthesize our findings into knowledge translation products for decision-maker audiences.
Please Note: This position offers a hybrid work environment consisting of in-office and remote work. Office location is 500 Church St in Penetanguishene, ON
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Leads new and emerging evidence synthesis, knowledge translation, and strategic projects in collaboration with the manager of knowledge mobilization and other colleagues; engages with colleagues to advise on the design and methodology of research and strategic projects
- Supporting partner engagement to foster collaborative knowledge translation partnerships in mental health and addictions
- Leads data collection efforts, including preparing data entry forms, entering, verifying and cleaning data to maintain accuracy and integrity
- Recruits and/or interviews key informants
- Leads the evaluation and interpretation of data and findings; leads and maintains the quality and accuracy of evidence synthesis methodology throughout the analysis and reporting process
- Prepares reports, articles, and presentations; leads presentations within the Research & Academic Division, Partnerships & Strategy Division, and to external health system partners
- Facilitate project meetings and participates in department meetings, contributing insights and updates on evidence synthesis and knowledge translation activities; attend conferences and other meetings as necessary
- Lead and provide guidance/mentorship to junior-level staff
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a behavioural/life science or social science field.
- Master’s degree in a related discipline an asset
- Minimum 3 years of relevant post-degree research training/experience involving statistical research and analysis required
- Record of achievement in scholarly work (publications, presentations, completed research projects in work or senior undergraduate/graduate setting) is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to prepare proposals, reports, and presentations.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills to participate in interviews and meetings with patients, inter-professional teams, etc.
- Excellent track record and capacity to build positive relationships with staff and external partners
- Excellent success working in a constantly changing and results-oriented environment, in interdisciplinary teams, and in partnerships with groups such as researchers, advocates and/or clinical service providers
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage competing demands.
- Advanced skills in systematic and/or other review methodologies
- Excellent track record of undertaking necessary tasks to meet objectives, consistently delivering high-quality and timely results
- Maintains the confidentiality of information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to critically evaluate research and other literature
- Maintains a strong working knowledge of research ethics principles and protocols
- Demonstrate advanced experience of conducting or reviewing studies with qualitative and quantitative research methods and analysis
- TCPS2 Certification preferred
- Detail-oriented to ensure data is checked and consistently accurate
- Models and promotes core ethical practice, Waypoint Values, and reflects an optimistic and positive attitude
- Preference for proficiency in French/English language skills
