About the role

Company Description

Sika Canada is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Sika Group. Responsibilities:

  • Carry out sales activities within a designated territory to support market share growth and achieve top‑line sales objectives.

  • Contribute to sales planning by recommending forecasts, discount targets, and budgeted expenditures.

  • Monitor performance against targets and support corrective actions to meet sales and profit (C2) goals.

  • Collaborate with customers to develop product testing programs that demonstrate product performance and value.

  • Apply Sika Canada’s operational policies and strategies in alignment with approved procedures to support organizational goals.

  • Develop and manage the assigned sales territory to promote balanced and sustainable market performance.

  • Work with customers to create total cost optimization programs that enhance value and customer savings.

  • Support visibility and inclusion of Sika products in specifications and project documentation.

  • Stay informed of competitive activity and contribute to strategies that strengthen sales positioning.

  • Ensure effective territorial coverage through thoughtful account management, which may include travel of up to 4,000 km per month, territory planning, field testing, reporting, and time management.

  • Perform other related duties in accordance with Sika Canada Inc.’s quality assurance standards.

Qualifications

  • A college diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering, business management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and lived or professional experience.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in the concrete industry, which may include experience gained through varied career paths.
  • ACI Field Technician Certification Program Grade 1 is considered an asset; candidates without this certification who demonstrate strong transferable skills are encouraged to apply.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and growing a sales territory, with flexibility in how success has been achieved across different environments.
  • Functional computer literacy and a willingness to learn new tools and technologies, with training and support provided.
  • Ability to complete required Sika Canada Inc. training related to operational procedures, including SMS, environmental standards, health, and safety.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, recognizing that communication strengths may be demonstrated in different ways.
  • Effective organizational, time management, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills, supported by appropriate tools, processes, or accommodations as needed.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and perform in dynamic environments, with support from the team and leadership.
  • A collaborative, team‑oriented approach, along with strong negotiation and relationship‑building skills.
  • Self‑motivation and leadership potential demonstrated through professional experience, community involvement, or other relevant contributions.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within Central Ontario, with occasional travel to Northern Ontario (including Barrie, Sudbury, Thunder Bay, Parry Sound, and surrounding areas). Alternative arrangements and accommodations related to travel may be discussed.
  • Ability to handle products weighing up to 50 lbs, with reasonable accommodations available for candidates who require assistance to perform physical aspects of the role.

Vehicle / Driver’s License Requirements:

  • A company vehicle will be provided.

  • A valid driver’s license is required, in compliance with Sika’s Fleet Safety Policy. Candidates who require accommodation related to driving are encouraged to discuss available options during the selection process.

  • Technical Sales Representatives are responsible for the responsible care and protection of company assets.
