Please note that False Bay School is located on Lasqueti Island. Lasqueti Island does not have a daily ferry service, and successful candidates are required to live locally. The school operates on a local alternative school calendar, using one day a month to accommodate personal needs.
The Qualicum School District is seeking highly skilled and dynamic educators to join our Teachers Teaching on Call pool on Lasqueti Island. Our TTOCs enjoy working in a vibrant, growing district where employment opportunities for teachers are expected to continue.
We invite applications from generalists and specialists (French Immersion, Technical Education, Science & Mathematics and Learning Assistance) who can demonstrate currency of practice, excellent interpersonal skills and work ethic, and a proven knowledge of the BC curriculum.
Applications are accepted through the Make a Future website. Please include:
**- Cover letter
- Resume
- Latest teaching report (or final practicum)
- Proof of BC Teachers Regulation Branch certification and TQS certification
- Copies of university transcripts
- Names of two supervisor referees **
Qualifications:
- Professional Certification Certified through the BC Teacher Regulation Branch.
- A bachelor's degree in education is required.
Additional Requirements
- Successful classroom teacher experience and/or student teaching experience in a school setting.
- Demonstrated proficiency in working with colleagues and students in knowledge production and knowledge sharing.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain skills through professional learning.
