About the role
DMV is currently seeking a Maintenance Electrician to join our team on a fixed-term contract to support the renovation of a commercial building. This is a hands-on role ideal for a Red Seal Electrician or a 4th Year Electrical Apprentice looking to gain valuable commercial renovation experience.
Position Type
- Fixed-term contract
- Full-time hours
- Project-based (commercial renovation)
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with electrical upgrades and renovations in an active commercial building
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, fixtures, and components
- Perform troubleshooting and minor repairs as required
- Work collaboratively with contractors, trades, and facilities staff
- Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and site procedures
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
Qualifications
- Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician with a minimum of 2 years of experience
OR
- 4th Year Electrical Apprentice in good standing
- Experience in commercial buildings and renovation projects preferred
- Strong understanding of electrical codes and safety practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-focused
Assets
- Experience working in occupied commercial facilities
- Familiarity with maintenance electrical work and troubleshooting
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
