Functions: The Packaging Operator (Bagger) is responsible for overseeing and directing the packaging team to ensure customer orders are fulfilled. They ensure quality products are packed into appropriate customer packages while maintaining a smooth production line.

Duties And Responsibilities On All Shifts

• Understand and follow production schedules in order to pack product as per customer requirements
• Using Redzone to periodically check product quality, correct date codes, package weights and temperature to ensure within quality specifications
• Collecting data and inputting into SPC terminal to monitor finished product weights
• Manage product changeovers and assuring that production lines run smoothly and efficiently
• Understand and operate packaging equipment and how to make adjustments for optimal performance (Kwik lock machines, Lematic & UBE Packaging machines)
• Ensure that Metal Detector checks are conducted and documented every hour
• Keep packaging material storage area tidy and organized at all times
• Keep area clean, organized and safe at all times
• Participate in daily huddles with Teammates to go over daily safety discussions
• Work with Maintenance to report any mechanical failures
• Report any issues that impact product quality or food safety to Production Supervisor or QA
• Assist in general cleaning of machinery and plant facility as assigned when production is stopped
• Work in accordance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), Food Safety and WCB regulations
• Work as a team leader and cooperate with your fellow team members at all times
• Other duties as required

• Physically able to lift and handle weight up to 30 lbs
