Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager of Events, the Events Assistant is responsible for supporting the Tour Alberta for Cancer leading up to the event and on event weekend. This role will also support the growth of our exciting partnership and community events through building relationships, cultivating new opportunities and enhanced stewardship as an ambassador for the Alberta Cancer Foundation.

Note: This is for a temporary, summer contract with the Alberta Cancer Foundation. This role is funded through Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program. How You'll Contribute

Tour Alberta for Cancer

  • Provide support to the Tour Alberta team including logistics, scheduling, communications and participant engagement
  • Distribute registration packages and materials to the Tour participants, ensuring accurate tracking
  • Accurately input data related to of offline donations into our database, maintaining up-to-date records for reporting
  • Represent ACF during the Tour Alberta for Cancer event weekend, assisting in event execution, participant support and overall logistics. Event Date: July 18 - 19, 2026 (must be available)

Community Events

  • Act as an ambassador for the Foundation at various community events, providing information on the Foundation's programs and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the events team to support the planning and execution of large-scale partnership events, including coordination with vendors, partners and volunteers.
  • Contribute to the organization and delivery of two stewardship events
  • Manage the inventory, packing and distribution of promotional materials, collateral and branded swag for community events

Administration

  • Provide general administrative support including drafting donor correspondence, compiling reports, preparing event materials and presentations, and maintaining internal tracking documents or spreadsheets.

What You'll Bring to the Team

  • As the Government of Canada has funded this job through the Canada Summer Jobs Program, applicants must be between the ages of 15-30 and legally entitled to work in Canada. This includes Canadian Citizens, permanent residents, or persons on whom refugee protection has been conferred. International students are not eligible.

  • Enrolled in or have completed post-secondary studies in a relevant discipline, including Business, Marketing, Hospitality, Communications and/or a combination of education, experience and training acceptable to the Foundation

  • Comfortable and confident to attend events and possibly speaking on behalf of the Foundation

  • A minimum of intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general office technology.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; proving calm, resourceful and resilient when under pressure.

  • Relevant work or volunteer experience is an asset

  • Clear Background Check Driver’s License & access to personal vehicle

This grant program is an anticipated sixteen (16) weeks of employment between May - September 2026.
