Position Title: Elementary Classroom Teacher
Job Status: Full-Time

As a central division of the Society, Regent Christian Academy (RCA) is our flagship campus-based school, serving the community through our Sullivan and Cloverdale campuses in Surrey, BC. We bring the RCAS mission to life through a vibrant, in-person learning community where students from Preschool through Grade 12 engage in rigorous academics, competitive athletics, and the fine arts. At RCA, we are dedicated to fostering a safe and nurturing environment where classroom excellence and spiritual mentorship prepare students to lead and serve with integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
Overview: The Elementary Classroom Teacher must be a dedicated and passionate educator who creates a nurturing, stimulating, and Christ-centered learning environment. They will be responsible for fostering the academic and social development of young minds, with a specific focus on core curriculum areas such as Math and English.
Instructional Excellence: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the BC Ministry of Education’s standards and a Biblical worldview.
Classroom Culture: Create a positive environment that encourages student participation and fosters a lifelong love for learning.
**Assessment & Support: **Evaluate student progress through diverse methods and provide individualized support or tutoring to ensure every child reaches their learning goals.
Collaboration : Work effectively with parents, students, and colleagues, modeling servant leadership and a collaborative spirit.
Professional Growth: Maintain accurate records and participate in professional development to stay current with innovative teaching strategies (such as "Frenchify" techniques).
Requirements & Qualifications:
BC Teaching Certificate (Required).
BA Degree in Education (or equivalent) with a relevant specialty.
Christian Education: A clear understanding of and commitment to Christian Education.
Skills: Proficiency in Math and English, strong classroom management, and familiarity with office software for administrative tasks.
Spiritually Grounded: A deep understanding of a Christian and Biblical worldview.
Relational: A strong desire to connect with students and a reputation for being a friendly, even-tempered, and servant-hearted team player.
Professional: Adaptable, confident, and optimistic, with a focus on modeling servant leadership to staff, parents, and students.
Innovative: Excited to work in a creative school environment that values new ideas and engaging activities.
As a faith-based educational institution, RCAS hires staff whose beliefs and conduct align with our Christian mission, values, and Statement of Faith. This role requires a genuine and reasonable occupational requirement (GOR) for the employee to affirm and support RCAS’s Christian beliefs and actively participate in a Christian church community. Compensation & Benefits:
- Pay: CA $53,000 - 95,000 annually
- Benefits: Health, Dental and Pension
