About the role
Position Summary
The Procurement Analyst is responsible for maintaining optimal stock levels, coordinating with vendors, and providing analytical support to maximize inventory efficiency, fill rates, and profitability. The Procurement Analyst works closely with internal teams to resolve supply issues, support sales requests, and contribute to continuous improvement within the procurement function.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain stock levels to optimize inventory turn and fill rates.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders and communicate any changes to vendors promptly.
- Follow up with vendors to resolve shipment errors, cancellations, and returns.
- Participate in monthly procurement analyst meetings.
- Review vendor targets and replenishment paths to support profitability objectives.
- Analyze monthly usage data and lead time exceptions to identify trends and solutions.
- Support sales teams with urgent requests, rush orders, and cancellations.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed to support evolving team, departmental, or organizational goals.
- Adhere to all health and safety policies, actively maintain a safe work environment, and promptly report any hazards, incidents, or unsafe conditions to a supervisor.
Skills and Competencies:
- Creates structured documents, applies intermediate Excel formulas/charts, designs effective presentations, manages calendars/meetings, and collaborates via Teams.
- Clearly conveys information in written and verbal formats. Listens attentively and asks questions to ensure understanding. Communicates respectfully with peers and supervisors in routine interactions.
- Manages time and tasks effectively with guidance. Keeps work area and materials orderly. Meets deadlines for routine activities.
- Breaks down complex issues, evaluates possible options, and selects effective solutions. Applies critical thinking to overcome obstacles.
- Works cooperatively with team members and willingly assists others when needed. Shares information and communicates respectfully to support group efforts. Participates in team activities and follows group norms.
- Understands the importance of customer satisfaction and provides courteous service. Responds to customer requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Consistently produces accurate, high-quality work with minimal errors. Reviews complex information thoroughly and identifies inconsistencies or risks. Takes initiative to correct mistakes and improve processes.
- Takes responsibility for assigned tasks and follows through on commitments. Acknowledges mistakes and seeks guidance when needed. Meets deadlines under supervision and adheres to established procedures.
- Fluently communicates in both French and English across a range of routine and professional tasks; consistently understands and responds to instructions, inquiries, and conversations with ease.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in supply chain or related field.
- Minimum of 1 year in a related field.
- Bachelor of Commerce is an asset
- Certification in Supply Chain Management is an asset.
Working Conditions
- Hybrid work model: 4 days in office, 1 day remote.
- 40-hour work week.
