Application Analyst
Position Purpose
The Application Analyst will be part of a growing team at the Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA). As a key member of the Information Systems (IS) department, this role provides timely and effective technical support for ACSA applications, ensuring system reliability and a high standard of customer service. The Application Analyst troubleshoots technical issues, collaborates with internal stakeholders and external vendors, and supports system enhancements through requirements analysis and testing activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to stakeholder technical inquiries related to ACSA applications via phone, email, ticketing systems, and in person.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, escalating urgent matters in accordance with established procedures, while communicating service status as needed.
- Gather and analyze trends from internal stakeholders to support system improvements.
- Contribute to vendor meetings, working groups, and committees as required.
- Collaborate with vendors and relevant forums to ensure operational needs are met, including providing updates on third-party technical progress.
- Support system and user acceptance testing by defining objectives, developing testing strategies, coordinating activities, and ensuring thorough documentation.
- Identify and implement department process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay informed on emerging tools, technologies, and industry trends to support evidence-based decision-making.
- Represent Your ACSA’s brand consistently and professionally, while demonstrating integrity, honesty, confidentiality, and respect in all interactions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Experience:
- 3+ years of related experience in technical application support.
Required skills and abilities:
- Ability to assess system performance across multi-system environments and translate insights into actionable troubleshooting steps.
- Maintains a high standard of customer service, with excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently as a strong and contributing member in a team environment.
- Excels at creative thinking and problem-solving, with a keen eye for detail.
Logistics
- This position requires a 40-hour work week.
- This role is eligible for a hybrid work model (ACSA Edmonton office).
- This role reports to the Senior Manager, Enterprise Systems & Data.
- Evening, and weekend/after-hours work as required.
Salary: $72,203 – $77,708 depending on experience and qualifications
