Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director, Digital Strategy and Innovation, the successful candidate will provide technical support, advice and counsel in regard to learning technologies, tools and systems utilized by Ontario Tech University. The role will require extensive collaboration with stakeholders or business units including Faculty, TLC, Registrar’s Office, School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, Student Life, Continuous Learning and ITS to assess, plan, and execute the scope of work. The role will take a lead in creating test cases and providing expertise in user acceptance testing alongside the functional users. Being an integral part of the IT Application Systems team, the incumbent’s primary duties will also include administration and application support of Learning Management System and any application that will integrate with the LMS at Ontario Tech University.
Responsibilities/accountabilities:
- Identify and provide highest tier of production application support for business units that utilize learning technology tools
- Work with technical and functional teams to establish and implement best practices, system maintenance, security improvements, data integrity, duplicates and backups
- Identify needs and resources for training staff on different learning technologies available at the university
- Advice stakeholders on a wide range of current and future educational technologies to support technology-enabled learning environments
- Perform highly complex analysis of instructional technology needs at the university
- Provide advance consultations to TLC and Faculty
- Evaluate feedback, implement adoption process, and use of newly released features for product
- Manage system upgrades
- Creating reports from learning technology tools, LMS and ERP to extract data for testing and business process use
Required Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate the capabilities of experiential learning software
- Demonstrated skills in supporting systems development projects
- Willingness to proactively and independently learn and master new technologies in response to needs
- Work in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
- Effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a constantly changing environment
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
Required Education:
- Completion of a university program consisting of four years.
- Preferred educational background related to Information Technology or Business Technology Management
- An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered
- Verification of Academic credentials may be required
Required Experience:
- 5+ years of related work experience is required
- Previous role as a Systems and/or Technology Solutions Analyst within educational industry with application support experience will be an asset
