About the role
Who you are
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
- Have a minimum of 10 years of experience in product design, including at least 3 years managing and leading teams
- Experience shipping AI-powered workflows or designing systems that incorporate LLMs, code generation, or agentic automation
- Demonstrate strong systems thinking — comfortable designing primitives, not just features
- Are energized by designer and developer tooling that enables creativity, ingenuity, and empowerment for individuals and teams building web experiences
- Demonstrate a portfolio of shipped software products that made a significant impact on business and customer goals
- Have mastery of organizational influence and collaborative execution in ambiguous, complex product environments at high-growth companies
- Balance big-picture vision with attention to detail, ensuring the products you ship consistently exceed expectations
- Care deeply about the impact of high-quality software experiences on users, and you are fluent in connecting design work to business strategy and tangible growth
- Are an engaging storyteller with strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills
- Have experience building products in a remote or distributed team environment
- Also bring one or more of these qualities: a growth mindset, motivation to improve continuously, comfort with ambiguity, a love of the craft, and optimism about the future
- Stay curious and open to growth — actively building fluency in emerging technologies like AI to unlock creativity, accelerate progress, and amplify impact
What the job involves
- We are looking for a Senior Product Design Manager to lead our visual development and design strategy
- Your primary focus will be on shaping Webflow’s core product surfaces, including the Designer, Components-based systems, Interactions, and agentic capabilities
- This will define agentic primitives as the building blocks that allow humans and AI to co-create web experiences
- The systems you shape will influence enterprise adoption, developer activation, ecosystem growth, and how AI-native websites are built
- You will work closely with engineering and product partners to turn complex technical concepts into intuitive, powerful experiences
- You will champion a builder culture that encourages teams to explore ideas through making, validate concepts quickly, and bring clarity to complex problems. You will set a high bar for craft, mentor designers, and redefine how AI can transform both designer workflows and design systems
- This role is both strategic and hands-on
- You will own a multi-team portfolio spanning product features, extensible platform pattern, define long-term strategy in partnership with Product and Engineering leadership, and ensure design investment translates into measurable outcomes
- Most importantly, you will shape the next generation of web creation: where visual development, code generation, and AI agents operate as a unified system
- Set a high bar for craft by shaping developer tools and design systems that are simple, intuitive, and powerful
- Champion a builder culture where teams explore ideas early and often to spark alignment and push the work forward
- Bring real experience with AI, from shipping features to experimenting with side projects, and use that knowledge to shape how we design with it
- Define operating principles for how design tooling and design systems scale across multiple product pillars
- Establish clear success metrics tied to activation, extensibility, and long-term platform growth
- Shape roadmap decisions by grounding design strategy in business impact and customer insight
- Partner closely with engineering by co-creating solutions, understanding technical tradeoffs, and building trust across disciplines
- Communicate clearly with senior leaders by framing design systems and developer tools as critical to adoption, growth, and long-term product strategy
- Foster a builder culture that is curious, experimental, and playful while grounding the team in rigor and design excellence
Benefits
- Modern & inclusive healthcare coverage
- 401K and financial planning
- Flexible paid time off
- Annual retreat and offsites
- WFH Office setup budget
- Health and wellness stipend
- Remote work reimbursements for phone & wifi
- Webflow subscription discount
- Remote-first flexibility
