Position Overview:

The Procurement Assistant is responsible to provide a variety of administrative support services to Director, Procurement and Supplier Management and Procurement and Supplier Management department in order to facilitate the work and functions within the department.

This position is Full time - Temporary. We expect the duration to be approx 2 years.

The anticipated pay for this position will be between $25-$30 per hour. Actual wages will be determined based on the candidates experience.

Job Description:

  • Support End to End Procurement, and Inventory Management Function (40%)
  • Providing administrative support to the Procurement team o PO and invoice cleanup—reconciling data, resolving discrepancies with internal teams and suppliers, maintaining accurate records, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Buying (30%)
  • Procure goods/services from preferred suppliers to fulfill customer demand as well as business needs (Indirect and Direct spend) o Reviewing open purchase orders o Support Strategic Buyers with day-to-day functions
  • Provide back-up support for the Strategic Buying team members during vacation, or high-volume periods.
  • Inventory Management (30%)
  • Assist in monitoring stock, and maintaining accurate records and parts tracking/order systems o Collaborate with Inventory Planner and assist in inventory processes as required
  • Assist with non-Cat inventory returns and cleanup

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 Years working in a Purchasing or production Environment or Equivalent
  • 1-2 Years Experience with Ariba/Sage/DBS/Lawson system/MRP or Equivalent ERP System
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications
  • Strong Work Ethic and attention to detail
  • Excellent Analytical and problem solving skills
