About the role

Khalsa Secondary School is seeking candidates for one Applied Skills and Design Teacher (Foods and Marketing) for our Sikh faith - based school located on 10589 124 Street. Academic teachers do not have to be observers of the faith. Teachers from all diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply! We are an a IB MYP authorized World School and an AP Level 2 school. We are a growing school with a lot of opportunities! Our teachers are supported and have a prep in each semester.

Currently, we have one Applied Skills and Design Teacher (Foods and Marketing)opening for September 2025.

We recognize North American teaching experience.

Salary: Starting salary of $6400 per month.

the Teacher Certification Branch (BC) for a CoQ
**Teaching experience from within Canada is recognized for a possible higher
starting
salary for CoQ teachers

Duties:

- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that adhere to the curriculum

- Utilize a variety of teaching methods to ensure all students understand the material

- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment

- Assess student progress and provide feedback

- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience

- Participate in parent-teacher meetings and school events

Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

- BC teaching certification

- Proven experience teaching related subjects (preferrable)

- Strong organizational skills to manage lesson plans and grading effectively

- Excellent communication skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues

- Ability to tailor teaching methods for diverse learning styles

Skills:

- Proficient in proofreading educational materials

- Classroom management expertise

- Effective communication and writing skills

- Experience in tutoring or special education is a plus

- Strong organizational abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently
