The Durham Catholic District School Board is pleased to announce we are hiring Core and French Immersion teaching positions within our Elementary schools.
**EFFECTIVE:**Immediately
**LOCATION:**Various Elementary Schools throughout the DCDSB
Location placements will be assigned following interviews, but may include any location(s) and/ or a combination of schools within the Durham Catholic District School Board.
The Board will be recruiting for a number of French-as-a-Second Language positions:
- Core French;
- French Immersion Classroom; and
- French Immersion Curriculum Coverage
Ministry required qualifications are:
- Certification in Good Standing with the Ontario College of Teachers.
- Primary/Junior and/or Junior/Intermediate Basic qualifications.
Additional qualifications:
**Please note that French as a Second Language, Part 1 qualification is required. However, If you are actively in pursuit of obtaining this qualification, you are welcome to apply for consideration.
- Native-like fluency is also required for French Immersion positions.
Compensation will be dependent on placement on the salary grid (as per applicable collective agreement), prorated by FTE. Placement is determined byQECO category evaluationandyears of certified teaching experience.

There are 44 elementary schools, and 7 secondary schools. Also within the Board are one Adult Education Centre in Ajax, and one Continuing Education Centre in Oshawa. The Board has engaged in a focused effort to improve student learning through ongoing staff development in the area of instructional leadership.
