This role is a hybrid work arrangement. Work schedule to be discussed with the hiring Manager according to the guidelines defined by the department.

Your role

We are searching for a dynamic, strategic and creative marketing leader with a love for all things entertainment to play a key role in driving audience growth and engagement at CBC! Reporting to the Senior Manager, Entertainment Marketing, you will lead marketing campaigns for the entertainment portfolio of content for CBC across all media platforms while collaborating with internal marcomms, programming, and production teams across Canada.

We are looking for someone who has a passion for entertainment content with strength and experience marketing a wide range of entertainment genres with proven results to help CBC reach Canada’s diverse audience on a growing range of platforms. Key Tasks:

  • Work closely with the Senior Manager and relevant teams to contribute to the overall entertainment marketing strategy for the year.

  • Uses data and insights and translate those into a strategic vision to inform entertainment marketing campaigns.

  • Contribute to the development and planning of campaigns through objective setting, leading team collaborations, strategic planning and asset management

  • Collaborate on overall content marketing strategies in support of identified priorities including providing guidance on specific tactics, delivery and measurement.

  • Advocates for and ensures all teams have clear sightlines and clear communications with Marketing to share best practices and provide insight & guidance against strategies.

  • Creates new and participates in existing processes and working groups to champion priorities, streamline information, asset sharing and service content teams and business units with close collaboration with internal marcomms teams including creative, PR, and research.

  • Helps to surface and enable local impact initiatives at the national level through content diversification, audience segmentation and through identified network opportunities.

  • Anticipate future requirements and determine appropriate action, ensuring that implementation and management of plans both support priorities and effectively leverage resources.

  • Provide thought leadership and industry insights to support/ lead special projects, new initiatives and innovation opportunities.

  • Manage 1-2 senior communication marketing specialists on the team and provide direction in order to achieve desired results. Advise, guide, and assess performance.

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

  • Post-secondary education in Marketing/Advertising or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5-7 years experience delivering professional integrated marketing campaigns with a focus on digital marketing tactics on various platforms (YouTube, Tiktok etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience turning multiple data streams into actionable strategies.
  • Solid understanding of the Canadian and global entertainment industry, CBC programming, competitors' activities and operations, and ability to gain an understanding of various CBC departmental activities in order to facilitate cross-promotion and integrated strategies.
  • Experience working with and leading external vendors.
  • Creative and strategic thinker, with superior writing and editing skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively maximize available resources.
  • Sound judgment with excellent decision making skills.
  • Successful at managing multiple projects simultaneously while working with tight deadlines.
  • Championing diverse perspectives and ideas, and differing points of view is critical.
  • Ability to travel on occasion as well as work long and/or irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as per project requirements.
