About the role
The Warehouse worker will perform an array of functions that might include accepting and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing, and retrieving stock in the warehouse.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines.
- Receive, ship, store, and transfer material for use in manufacturing.
- Perform the related transactions for the stocking of material.
- Break down, clean, organize, and prep for manufacturing in accordance to procedure and production requirements.
- Assist with broad range of warehouse tasks, utilizing forklifts, pallet movers, drum dollies and carts. Transport materials to and from assigned areas within the warehouse.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks.
- Repackaging of materials, change and clean equipment.
- Coordinate, communicate and signal replenishment of material from the various stock locations to production.
- Maintains fork lift truck by placing on charge and notifying supervision when truck is not operating properly.
- Completes daily forklift safety inspection.
- Completes cycle counts as required.
- Ensures all material is properly labeled prior to transport.
- Follow all safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Entry level to 1 year of inventory, warehouse, and receiving experience.
- Materials handling experience.
- Ability to work in a self-directed environment.
- Communication skills necessary to coordinate activities among various parties, including internal and external customers and vendors.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.
- Exposure/experience to manufacturing.
- Forklift Certified.
- Understands quality, PPE requirements and safety and the importance of complying with safety policies and procedures.
Physical/Visual Demands/Work Environment (Physical and visual activities that are commonly associated *with the performance of the functions of this job):
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to walk and stand.
- The position is associated with pushing, pulling, climbing, handling, reaching, stretching, and working in tight and high places.
