The Senior Account Manager, Business Development is responsible for leading strategic pursuits, driving international business opportunities from identification through to contract signature. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Business Development, the Senior Account Manager develops a deep understanding of the capabilities and sales strategy of key Canadian exporters in the assigned sector to drive new G2G opportunities for CCC.

What you’ll be doing

  • Advances assigned pursuits from lead identification through contract award, working collaboratively to (a) assess merits and risks of export opportunity; (b) optimize information sharing throughout pursuit development; (c) propose risk-mitigated solution to foreign buyer; and (d) ensure timelines are met in accordance with articulated pursuit strategy
  • Leads and provides direction for assigned pursuits, in consultation with the Sr. Director, Business Development; and provides support to the Sr. Director on complex, strategically important pursuits (ex. nuclear)
  • Provides strategic input and leadership in support of corporate objectives by guiding complex pursuits, shaping business development practices, and participating in enterprise and team‑level strategy development and execution in a matrixed people-management role.
  • Develops, networks, and maintains effective business relations with Canadian exporters, international agencies, and other Canadian departments/agencies and stakeholders with the goal of closing business
  • Attends and represents CCC at various conferences, events, and outreach activities across range of industry sectors and regions to increase portfolio of CCC customers in select markets, as required, with an identified high potential for government-to- government sales
  • Provides sector activity and event reports and dashboards to support the overall business objectives
  • Participates in corporate and team-level strategic planning and execution of approved strategies and plans

What you’ll bring to CCC

  • Completion of university degree in commerce, international business, or related field
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience business development and sales
  • Knowledge of nuclear legal project structures, international financing facilities and stakeholders’ engagement required to advance projects.
  • Knowledge of international business development and sales, continuous improvement practices, and market intelligence research and strategies
  • Knowledge of relevant local, provincial, and federal legislation and regulations including collective agreements
  • Knowledge of relevant economic, political, legal, cultural, and social contexts of partners and stakeholders
  • Bilingual imperative (B-B-B)
