About the role
Parkland County has a temporary, full-time Supervisor, Capital Construction position available within the Engineering Services department, working until approximately October 2026. Reporting to the Manager, Capital Construction, this position is responsible for the coordination of staff, activities, equipment, and other resources required to carry out road surfacing, subdivision preservation, and associated asphalt surfacing as identified in Parkland County’s Four-Year Infrastructure Program. The Supervisor, Capital Construction is responsible for managing Capital Construction programs on active roadways within Parkland County and must possess the ability to balance resources within the program objectives while considering the effects of weather, traffic, and development. This position will work on multiple Capital Construction projects and coordinate projects with assigned project managers and resources in other areas.
The ideal candidate would have the following:

High school diploma is required. Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering Technology from accredited post-secondary institute would be considered an asset.

A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a supervisory capacity.

A minimum of five (5) years of direct experience in the construction and maintenance of roadways and working with asphaltic materials.

Training or experience with the use of the Microsoft Office Suite is required. Experience using Asset Management Systems, Maintenance Management Systems and GIS software is an asset.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to maintain effective, courteous, and tactful relationships with internal and external contacts.

Must have a Class 5 Driver’s License. A current satisfactory Driver’s Abstract must be provided at the time of hire.
The total rewards package for this position includes:
An hourly rate of pay of $43.94 to $49.42 per hour, working approximately 8 hours/day; 40 hours/week scheduled Monday to Friday.
