Reporting To: Facilities Manager
Start Date: Immediately
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 5:00pm
Compensation: $21 per hour

Summary:
The General Labourer supports daily yard and processing operations by assisting with material sorting, equipment cleaning, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The successful candidate will follow Miller Waste Systems safety protocols and contribute to efficient site operations through teamwork and flexibility.
Responsibilities:
In the position of General Labourer your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Must adhere to Miller Waste Systems safety protocols and be familiar with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Perform general yard clean-up, including picking garbage and maintaining housekeeping standards.
- Operate or assist in operating a skid steer, as required.
- Assist with manual sorting of materials and removal of debris, as required.
- Maintain clear and safe tipping areas and report any hazards or concerns.
- Monitor work areas and report any safety or operational issues.
- Wash equipment and support overall site cleanliness.
- Receive training in the operation of various pieces of equipment, as required.
- Provide backup support for processing operations, as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Competencies & Qualifications:
- Previous experience with heavy equipment (including skid steer) is considered an asset.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Valid G Class Driver’s Licence.
- Team-oriented with demonstrated safe working habits.
- Ability to work days, afternoons, weekends, and flexible shifts based on operational needs.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work (lifting, bending, standing for extended periods).
