About this Opportunity

The Communications Specialist supports the development and delivery of internal and external corporate communications. This role is ideal for an early‑career communications professional who is developing foundational skills in content creation, coordination, and channel management. Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs and working with the guidance of senior communications team members, the role focuses on execution, coordination, and day‑to‑day support.

Core Responsibilities

  • Draft and support the distribution of news releases other external communications materials

  • Develop and maintain targeted national and regional media lists

  • Conduct media and social media listening to identify emerging issues, risks, and engagement opportunities

  • Support social media posting, scheduling, and monitoring

  • Create simple branded social media graphics, templates, and visuals

  • Maintain social media and internal content calendars and tracking tools

  • Draft and support content for employee communications, including intranet updates and newsletters

  • Assist with planning and execution of Town Hall communications and logistics

  • Support the planning and execution of communications initiatives and campaigns

  • Provide administrative and project support to senior communications team members

  • Track basic engagement metrics (e.g., opens, clicks, views)

  • Prepare reports and summaries to support evaluation of communications effectiveness

What You Bring

Must-have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field

  • 2+ years of experience in communications, marketing, media, or a related role (including co‑op or internship experience)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Attention to detail and strong proofreading skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Comfort working with Microsoft 365 tools (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams); experience with intranet or CMS tools is an asset

  • Basic design skills (Canva, Adobe Express, or similar).

Nice to have:

  • Experience supporting internal communications in a corporate environment

  • Familiarity with basic analytics or reporting tools

  • Interest in developing a career in corporate or internal communications

  • Bilingual in English and French
