About the role
Founded in Kingston in 1954, Homestead Land Holdings Limited has grown to become one of Canada’s largest and most respected owners of multi-residential apartment buildings. The founding principles of the company are still in place today, which are to provide residents with affordable, secure housing with a standard of care in which we would treat our own family members.
The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for functioning with a high degree of accuracy, confidentiality, judgment and efficiency with respect to the timely production and maintenance of financial records. The Accounts Receivable Clerk ensures that the resident accounts are accurate and up to date and that charges and receipts are processed within the established time limits.
Role & Responsibilities (Overview):
- Processing resident payments which can be made by cheque, preauthorized payment or online payments.
- Process monthly rent billing and post to resident accounts.
- Calculate rent increases monthly and produce N1 forms to be served to residents.
- Approve Above Guideline Increases (AGIs) when awarded by the Landlord Tenant Board including posting retroactive charges.
- Reconciliation of resident accounts to ensure accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary accounting education preferred
- Professional experience in an Accounts Receivable role preferred
- Experience with Yardi Voyager an asset
- Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications and PDF software
- Possess excellent interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
