School District No. 92 (Nisga’a) is accepting applications for K-12 Teachers Teaching on Call. Certified teachers must be a member in good standing of the BC Teacher Regulation Branch. TTOC’s will be placed on call for all Nisga'a schools, therefore travel will be required depending on residency location. There are no scheduled times for the shortlist/interview process as the intake is ongoing.

Located in the Nass Valley in Northwestern British Columbia, the Nisga’a School District encompasses the traditional treaty territory of the Nisga’a Nation. Role Overview

Teachers Teaching On Call (TTOC) play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning across the Nisga’a School District by providing instructional support when regular classroom teachers are absent. TTOC's uphold the district’s commitment to student success, cultural responsiveness, and inclusive education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver instruction aligned with BC Curriculum and district learning goals

  • Maintain a respectful, engaging, and safe classroom environment

  • Implement or adapt lesson plans to meet student needs

  • Support diverse learners to meet individual needs

  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administrators

  • Uphold district policies, professional standards, and confidentiality

Qualifications

  • Valid BC Teaching Certificate
  • TQS Category Card

Preference will be given to applicants who:

  • Respect and value diversity and are committed to reconciliation by meaningfully integrating Nisga’a and other Indigenous perspectives into their practice.
  • Adapt their teaching to meet the needs of all learners and respond flexibly to the classroom environment.
  • Build strong relationships and work well with learners, families, and colleagues.
  • Communicate effectively and work with others in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Demonstrate social-emotional awareness and bring a trauma-informed lens to their work with learners and families.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow teachers to plan, develop, and implement extraordinary learning experiences for each individual student.
  • Support the goals of the school and district through a collaborative and positive approach.

** **Qualifications

  • Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or eligible for)
  • Be legally permitted to work in Canada
  • TQS Category Card

  • A minimum of three references, including one from a current/recent supervisor

  • A detailed resume and cover letter

  • Submission of certification and qualifications.
