The Salt Spring Centre School, nestled in 70 acres of meadow and farm land on Salt Spring Island, is inviting applications from qualified individuals for a full-time primary position beginning September 2024. The Salt Spring Centre School is a certified K-7 independent school delivering BC curriculum with additional focus on small class sizes, relationships, creative arts, social-emotional learning, problem-solving, self-expression, and exploratory outdoor play. ******Qualifications ** Successful candidates will:
- Hold a valid British Columbia teaching certificate
- Have interest and expertise in K-3 grade learning
- Possess an understanding of and commitment to social-emotional learning and youth mental health
- Actively and personally support a caring attitude towards the land and environment
- Have training in primary education pedagogy with specific skills in teaching literacy and numeracy
- Have experience working with neurodiversity
- Be a team player
- Be fluent in oral and written English
- Love learning!
