Join Our Team at Blachford Lodge

Blachford Lodge is a remote, fly-in wilderness lodge located just outside Yellowknife, offering year-round experiences in a unique northern setting. During the spring break-up season, we focus on repairs, maintenance, and preparing the property for the upcoming season — and we’re looking for a reliable, hardworking labourer to join our team.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, lodge-based position where you will live and work on site for the duration of the contract.

You’ll support a variety of repair, renovation, and general labour tasks across the property, working closely with our Repair & Renovations Technician and team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, is eager to learn, and thrives in a remote, team-based environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting repair and renovation work across cabins and lodge facilities

  • Assisting with carpentry and construction tasks

  • Carrying materials, tools, and equipment

  • Site preparation, demolition, and clean-up

  • Maintaining clean and organized work areas

  • Assisting with general maintenance across the property

  • Supporting shared lodge responsibilities (including dishes and common area upkeep)

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong work ethic and reliability

  • Comfortable with physical labour (lifting 40 lbs+ and working on your feet)

  • Ability to follow direction and work as part of a team

  • Willingness to learn and take on a variety of tasks

  • Comfortable living and working in a remote, off-grid environment

  • Experience in construction, labour, or maintenance

  • Experience operating ATVs or small boats

  • Experience using hand tools

Working Conditions

  • Continuous on-site work in a remote, fly-in location

  • Physically demanding, hands-on work

  • Outdoor work in variable northern weather conditions

  • Small, close-knit team environment

Compensation & Perks

  • Competitive day rate based on experience

  • Room and board provided while on site

  • Flights provided from Yellowknife

  • Lieu time accrued based on schedule

  • Potential for extension or future opportunities
