About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Industrial Hygiene Technician to support our industrial hygiene programs, support effective worker exposure, workplace monitoring, industrial hygiene inspections, and audits. The successful candidate will assist in identifying, evaluating, and controlling workplace hazards to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.

Please note that this position is based in Labrador West and the work schedule will be Monday to Friday (5/2) with 8-hour days.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct air, noise, biological, and chemical exposure monitoring
  • Assist in hazardous materials abatement and restoration work oversight
  • Assist in workplace hazard assessments and risk evaluations
  • Collect and document environmental and occupational exposure data
  • Calibrate and maintain industrial hygiene equipment
  • Support the development and implementation of industrial hygiene programs
  • Manage databases, field data, laboratory results and maintain accurate records
  • Ensure compliance with provincial and federal regulations
  • Collaborate across departments

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Environmental Health, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or related field
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience preferred (entry-level candidates may be considered)
  • Knowledge of industrial hygiene principles and monitoring techniques
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with sampling equipment (air pumps, dosimeters, gas detectors)
  • Familiarity with mining and industrial environments
  • Understanding of WHMIS and occupational exposure limits

Working Conditions

  • Field-based work in industrial environments (will include mine and plant)
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions
  • Occasional shift work may be required
