- Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Understands the market to identify the key customers and establish relationships as appropriate
- Facilitates customer visits in order to better understand the customer’s needs and implement solutions
- Screens potential business opportunities by analysing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options and resolving internal priorities
- Provides market intelligence on investment and industry trends to enable a more focused marketing effort
- Understands the market, both internally and externally, including competitor positions, strategies, segmentation and current/future direction
- Collaborates with other departments and defines the product specifications (from a commercial perspective), required personnel, and outside vendor relationships in the development of new products.
- Develop a compelling product development roadmap
- Acts as a focal point for resolution of product related issues
- Keeps abreast of technological developments in the area of expertise to ensure a high technical quality in tools and techniques developed in the group
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Required Qualifications:
- Experience in the telecommunication markets, exposure to the unique requirements of HiRel submarine components a strong plus
- 10 years of Product Marketing or Business Development experience in a global setting
- University degree in a technical field. MBA degree a strong plus
- Demonstrated ability to drive product line strategy and execute on roadmaps
- Deep customer relationships within the optical/telecommunications industry would be a strong asset
- Technical experience in telecommunications technologies such optical amplification, passive optics and laser diodes would be preferred
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to effectively manage multiple goals and priorities
- Ability to work with geographically distributed teams and business partners
