About Accès Pharma chez Walmart
The Accès pharma at Walmart network was established in 1994, when Walmart stores first opened in Quebec. Initially known as Le Comptoir pharmacies, Walmart Comptoir Santé, and finally Accès pharma at Walmart since 2010, the affiliated pharmacy network is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2019.
Through the years, the network has grown through the development of Walmart Canada in this country and in Quebec. In 2012, Walmart Canada acquired some Zellers stores, including several in the province, allowing the network to increase the number of its points of sale in the territory from 48 pharmacies at first to 68 affiliated pharmacies to date.
In the last few years, the network has also evolved as the pharmacist’s profession has evolved in Quebec. In 2015, Bill 41 allowed pharmacists to play an increasingly important role for the population. As a result, all affiliated pharmacies now have dedicated teams offering a wide variety of professional services.
