Are you acertified 2nd Class Power Engineerready tolead critical energy operations?In this role, you’lloversee the safe and efficient performance of our wood-fired furnace,****thermal oil heating system, Electrified Filter Bed (EFB) pollution control system,and essential millinfrastructure including fire protectionand water treatment systems.Your leadership will ensure we meet production targetswhileupholding the highest standardsin safety, quality, and cost control.

We’re looking for an experiencedEnergy Superintendentto join ourAthabasca OSB Division,located inSlave Lake, Alberta.This state-of-the-art facility has thelongest continuous press in North America, giving us the ability to produce a diverse range of innovative products for customers around the world.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

-2ndClass Power Engineering Certification. -Previous supervisory experiencecoupled with demonstrated ability to work effectively with others.

  • Experienceoperating automated or computerized control systems.

  • Experienceoperating a thermal oil system. -Excellent communicationskills. -Proven leadership skills. -ExperiencewithJDEor an alternative CMMS.

In this role you will:

  • Lead andoversee the plant Asset Protection portfolioin alignment with the Tolko Property Conservation Manual, insurance recommendations, andregulatory requirements.

  • Ensuringimprovement projects are planned and implemented. -Development of standard operating proceduresfor repetitive work.

  • Monitorperformance relative to targets,generatereports/trendsandcommunicate performanceto the mill personnel.

  • Set uptraining schedulesfor theEnergy/Drying Team.

  • Act on opportunities tomaximize plant uptime and productionthrougheffective utilization of resources.

  • Work closely with other departments forprocess improvementsand problem solving. -Utilize current systems and processesto assist maintenance in the identification of repairs. -Provide Maintenance Downtime supportin Operational and Maintenance tasks as required.

  • Supportemployee developmentofdirect reportsthrough coaching, feedback and performance management.

  • Assist the tradespeople inpreventative maintenance and repair activitieson the equipment of the area.

  • Complete appropriatelog reportsanddata collectionsheets as required.
