Job Summary:

Are you passionate about delivering business value through modern Microsoft technologies? We are seeking a Solution Manager, Product Delivery – Power Platforms to join our Microsoft Solutions Team. This is an individual contributor role focused on leading the delivery and governance of applications built with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Pages, Dataverse), SharePoint (SPFx), and ASP.NET.

You will develop solution designs, oversee application backlogs, and coordinate the software delivery lifecycle. You will also act as a key point of contact for project and operational delivery, supporting the project manager and other developers, while influencing both strategic and tactical plans for the assigned portfolio.

Major Responsibilities:

Operations and governance oversight

  • Lead the product delivery team and manage a portfolio of applications to ensure high quality, reliability, and compliance.
  • Oversee the backlog of work, including incidents, enhancements, and service requests.
  • Manage IT staffing and sourcing strategies based on project needs and required skills.
  • Conduct internal and external audits, address compliance gaps, and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Monitor and manage technology and resource capacity, looking for efficiency improvements.
  • Oversee documentation, project plans, business cases, and financial/resource estimates.
  • Support technical solutions for major projects, remove obstacles, and provide guidance.
  • Collect requirements from clients and stakeholders, and make recommendations for project delivery.
  • Manage supplier contracts, ensuring compliance, quality, and timelines.
  • Ensure all components meet the WSIB IT standards and use consistent methods for cost and resource estimates.
  • Transition practices and solutions from project to operational state.

Business and strategy

  • Shape short and long-term plans for the product delivery team and applications, contributing to divisional strategies.
  • Manage relationships with outsourced and managed suppliers, ensuring continuity and service improvements.
  • Create tactical and strategic plans, allocate resources, and align the team to business goals.
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives, including automation and reducing manual work.
  • Mitigate risks to prevent service interruptions.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial tracking for the application portfolio.
  • Support business cases and procurement strategies for new technologies and services.
  • Prepare executive reports on status, achievements, risks, and financials for management.

People

  • Identify skills and capabilities needed for recruitment and ongoing team development.
  • Provide ongoing input on staffing and team composition.
  • Mentor team members, offering advice and guidance for day-to-day work and larger initiatives.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture.
  • Continuously seek feedback to improve personal and team performance.
  • Engage in self-development to stay current with new technologies and practices.

External stakeholders

  • Participate in management committees to ensure supplier services meet expectations and timelines.
  • Hold vendors and suppliers accountable to service level commitments and maintain strong relationships with the WSIB.
  • Monitor and recommend improvements to governance frameworks.
  • Manage supplier contracts, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
  • Track supplier progress on improvement and compliance initiatives.
  • Assess whether work should be done by external suppliers or internal resources.

Internal stakeholders

  • Engage with IT Client Engagement, Service Delivery Managers, Directors, and other internal groups to build positive relationships and clear communication.
  • Gather client feedback and address any gaps in service delivery.
  • Manage issue resolution and share results across the WSIB ITC organization.
  • Provide system and financial consumption information, and recommend ways to optimize outsourced and managed services.

Job Requirements:

  • Microsoft Power Platform certifications (PL-400, or PL-600) are highly desirable.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on technical and implementation experience with Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint, or ASP.NET.
  • 7+ years of experience in end-to-end Power Platform solution implementation, system administration, and production support within multi-tiered developer environment including experience with Dataverse
  • Demonstrated success in improving IT service delivery and leading complex IT projects involving both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math is a strong asset.
  • Relevant industry certifications (PMP, Scrum, SAFE, Agile) are a strong asset.
