We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Subsidy Coordinator to join our team. This is a 19-month contractual maternity leave coverageposition.
The Subsidy Coordinator has oversight of all government funding programs in all jurisdictions where Learning Jungle operates. The individual is responsible for ensuring that all subsidy and grant applications and budgets are submitted on time. Other responsibilities include funding reconciliations and supporting front-line managers with their relationships with the subsidy office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit annual grant applications and budgets in a timely manner to ensure no funding interruptions.
- Prepare and submit funding reconciliations against expenses to comply with funding reporting requirements.
- Attend training and workshops to update knowledge on various changes to existing grants and subsidies, and learn new funding streams when available.
- Utilize all available one-time funding, such as repairs and maintenance grants, to improve facility and center financials.
- Ensure front-line managers are submitting the subsidized children's attendance on time to ensure no funding suspension or delays.
- Support the Finance group to ensure that approved grants are received and reconciled.
- Research on any new grants and subsidies available to increase facility revenues or reduce expenses.
- Communicate and maintain relationships with various subsidy agencies to ensure the organization stays informed and any issues are resolved immediately.
- Prepare monthly subsidy fee charges for all locations.
- Reconciling billing accounts to the general ledger
- Interfacing with the accounts receivable, credit/collections
- Ensuring the accuracy of parent and subsidy fees
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in business, accounting or finance-related field
- Proven experience in a business, accounting or finance-related position.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to establish rapport with staff and government agencies
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Experienced in applying for and managing government grants and funding programs
- Good analytical/critical thinking and problem solver
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly motivated and able to work independently
- Computer skills - Google Applications, Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
