DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Team Lead will manage and execute daily Distribution Center Operations to ensure customer requirements are met in a manner that is consistent with company’s safety, service and cost objectives. This will be a working lead hand who will oversee the day-to-day functions including but not limited to Receiving, order fulfillment, shipping, inventory.

***Must be able to work flexible hours/overtime when necessary, including weekends.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plans and schedules personnel to ensure proper staffing to receive, pick, pack and ship, a productive, safe, cost-efficient manner.
  • Ascertains that product inbound and outbound adheres to current procedures and safety measures while maintaining high customer service levels.
  • Conduct daily start-up meetings and organize daily work assignments to associates. Provide daily leadership and hands-on support for the warehouse associates.
  • Trains warehouse operators in the proper execution of warehouse processes, equipment, and tools necessary to perform their jobs.
  • Guarantees the efficient and safe operation of all material handling equipment and point of contact for any safety issues on first or second shift.
  • Promotes a positive, inclusive work environment through effectively communicating and interpreting company policies for warehouse operators, coaching and counseling, responding to general inquiries, analyzing and resolving work problems in a timely manner and in accordance with company policies.
  • Must maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to 5S Standards
  • Assist Warehouse Manager in identifying and formalizing, creating and updating policies and procedures
  • Completes necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Participates in operations development and problem-solving meetings as requested.
  • Maintains confidentiality in all areas.
  • Must be able to communicate respectfully and effectively with all levels of employees.
  • Ability to assist in fostering and driving a team-based results environment.
  • Performs tasks involving inventory handling, checks, inspection, sorting and disposition of damage goods ensuring proper inventory management.
  • Performs work of warehouse associates including Kardex tasks.
  • Ensure Cycle Count Schedule is adhered to and maintained as per corporate guidelines on perpetual inventory
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduated from college or university program with a focus on Data Analytics, Business or Previous warehouse experience 3-5 years.
  • Supervisory Experience 1- 2 years
  • Strong people leader with Continuous Improvement mindset and demonstrated experience in leading process improvement projects. Should have used Lean and/or Six Sigma methodology for problem solving. Experience in leading WMS transitions/implementation.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a team environment and effectively communicate with team members.
  • Must be able to operate all moving and lifting vehicles. Reach Truck and Electric Pallet Truck.
  • Must be able to work independently with little supervision while maintaining excellent communication skills with all associates; excellent team player skills required.
  • Flexible working hours (if required) to help or transfer to other shifts.
  • Must have a high record of quality when performing activities.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Detail oriented, efficient, and well organized.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
