About this Role
As a labourer, you will be part of a small team responsible for the completion of sewer and watermain work. Ability to manually perform all required tasks and to coordinate sequenced activities in an efficient manner is required.
Key Responsibilities

Assist required excavations for trenches trenches utilizing equipment or when necessary through manual digging.

Level trench bases using tamping machines or through the use of hand tools.

Manually or through the use of equipment, place pipe accurately and according to blue prints.

Properly connect pipe pieces and seal joints.
-
Bed and backfill pipe with required materials, packing materials with required.
-
Provide manual labour assistance as required.

Maintain organizational services, facilities, and equipment.

Engage in all forms of labour to assist in the successful completion of construction projects from start to finish.
Education and Experience Requirements

You have experience on a sewer and watermain crew.

You pay close attention to detail and demonstrate physical strength and stamina (lifting up to 40 lbs).

You are open to learning new technologies and techniques.

You work well both independently and as part of a team.

You hold a valid driver’s license.
Physical/Sensory Effort and Work Environment

Position is physically strenuous.

Lifting, pulling, standing, crouching for long periods of time.

Work at high elevations and in confined spaces.

Manual dexterity required.

Performance of repetitive tasks.

Interacts with employees, management and the public at large.

Overtime may be required.
