HSE - Industrial Safety Technician (Air Technician)

DXP | HSE Integrated is currently seeking qualified Air Technicians to support upcoming projects. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team.
Duties/Responsibilities

Monitor and back up all personnel working under breathing air by having function-tested SCBA’s readily available for use; watch workers upwind and from a safe distance
-
Set up and maintain HSE Integrated safety equipment as described in specific procedures, including the inspection of equipment at the beginning of each shift
-
Ensure that appropriate PPE is being worn at all times
-
Participate in all client site and pre-job meetings
-
Keep an accurate head count of all personnel on location
-
Ensure that work areas under employee responsibility appear professional and are in good repair
-
Provide support in the shop, to complete maintenance and turnaround procedures, including cleaning and repairing equipment and prepping air trailers for use
-
Maintain a professional relationship with all personnel in the work area
-
Ensure all paperwork is completed timely manner
-
Report and communicate regularly to the TAR Coordinator or Operations Coordinators regarding critical changes that may directly affect dispatch
-
Must be willing to perform Safety Watch duties, if required.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a health and safety capacity (field and / or administrative), would be considered an asset
- Minimum 90 days working in the field
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Good vision/hearing
- Physically capable of performing the following tasks:

- Working at heights and / or climbing ladders
- Working in small / confined spaces
- Lifting up to 50lbs
- Pushing / pulling (tools / objects)
- Sitting / driving
- Bending / kneeling / crouching
- Standing / walking for long periods of time
- Working in adverse weather environments (heat / cold) and conditions (rain / wind)
- Potential shift lengths 10 – 12 hours, should be available to work longer if client requirements demand longer shifts or schedule changes
- Employee must ensure that they are staying hydrated, alert and fit for duty at all times
Required Certifications & Training
- Successful completion of: ISW – New Hire Orientation Training Program (Classroom)
- Successful completion of all Safety Sync Online Training Modules
- H 2 S Alive
- Standard First - Aid / CPR
- Valid, unrestricted driver’s license with full privileges for the required vehicle class (or higher), issued in the applicable province.
- HSE Integrated Orientation
- HSE Gas Detection
- Construction Safety Training System (CSTS)
- Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
- Fall Protection
- Firewatch
- Confined Space Entry and Monitoring
- Fire Extinguisher Level I & II
- Experience setting up air trailers and portable gas detection systems
- Conduct equipment maintenance procedures at the field level
*Additional training and certifications may be necessary to meet client specifications.
