About the role

Permanent Full Time

We are seeking a Director, Technical Solutions - SAP Platform Engineering to lead the evolution of our SAP ecosystem from a traditional operations model to a modern, cloud-enabled platform. This role will be accountable for engineering, reliability, and performance of the SAP platform as we advance our S/4HANA and cloud journey.

As a key member of the SAP Platform leadership team, you will establish engineering standards, drive automation, and provide thought leadership to ensure a secure, scalable, and high-performing SAP environment. This is a hands-on leadership role. The successful candidate will operate comfortably in complexity, bring clarity where ambiguity exists, and ensure that operational discipline and delivery outcomes remain tightly connected.

What you will do

  • Lead the SAP Platform Engineering function, including BASIS, HANA, cloud infrastructure, and platform reliability
  • Define and execute the platform engineering roadmap aligned to S/4HANA, cloud, and modernization priorities
  • Establish and enforce engineering standards, automation (CI/CD), and operational excellence practices
  • Oversee platform performance, availability, and resilience, including capacity and lifecycle management
  • Provide leadership over vendor managed services and multi geo teams
  • Partner with application, architecture, and security teams to ensure alignment across the SAP ecosystem
  • Drive continuous improvement and reduction of manual operations through automation

What you will bring

  • 5+ years’ experience as a technology leader and with either a business unit or a technology role

  • 5+ years hands-on experience as a BASIS lead or platform engineer, including S/4HANA and cloud environments

  • Strong understanding of SAP on cloud platforms (Azure preferred)

  • Proven leadership experience building and leading engineering-focused teams

  • Experience with automation, DevOps practices, and platform standardization

  • Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels

  • Senior technical leadership experience in complex, regulated environments.

  • Strong grounding in operational risk management, delivery governance, and modern engineering practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence across teams without relying on formal authority.

  • A pragmatic, values driven leadership style with a strong sense of ownership.

  • Reliability Status Security Clearance – this can only be completed with candidates who receive an offer of employment. This is a personal security status that is required as a condition of employment before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada website. The cost of submitting these checks will be covered by Canada Life.

What you’ll get

  • Opportunity to shape a modern SAP platform at a critical transformation point
  • Leadership role with end-to-end accountability for platform outcomes
  • Ability to influence engineering standards, cloud adoption, and operating model transformation

The base salary for this position is between $128,200 - $178,200 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc). If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.

Career opportunities will be open a minimum of 5 business days from the date of posting, closing dates will vary depending on the search activity. All applications received will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
