What You’ll Do

The Industrial Laboratory Technician supports product quality, process control, and environmental compliance by obtaining, preparing, and analyzing raw materials, in process samples, finished products, and environmental water samples. This role conducts physical and chemical testing, investigates out of specification results, and provides data driven recommendations to support safe, efficient plant operations. The position works 12 hour shifts in a rotating schedule of 36 hour and 48 hour weeks within a 24/7 continuous operation environment.

  • Obtain, prepare, and analyze furnace samples, raw materials, finished products, and environmental water samples
  • Conduct physical and chemical testing using established laboratory methods and instrumentation
  • Investigate out of specification results and communicate findings to operations and quality teams
  • Support the Environmental, Safety & Health Coordinator with sampling, documentation, and compliance tasks
  • Follow detailed test methods, maintain accurate records, and safeguard confidential or classified information
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements related to health, safety, and environmental standards

What You’ll Need

To be successful in this position, you must:

  • Hold an associate degree in laboratory science, chemical technology, or a closely related field
  • Bring 2–4 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (preferred but not required)
  • Be able to work 12 hour shifts in a 24/7 continuous operation environment
  • Work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team setting
  • Demonstrate strong organization, attention to detail, and basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office)
