Field Equipment Coordinator (Student)

About the role

This position is a term position, with the potential for extension and is based in Calgary. The Field Equipment Coordinator is responsible for a variety of activities required to support the Equipment Center. Term: May 4 – August 28, 2026

Key Responsibilities

  • Identifying and sourcing equipment and vehicles required to undertake a variety of projects.
  • Provision of safety and field equipment to MEMS offices in Sherwood Park, Calgary, Grande Prairie, Saskatoon and remote locations.
  • Ensuring the consistent maintenance and tracking an inventory of MEMS owned equipment in addition to the identification of potential future equipment needs.
  • Responsible for lockout/tag out of any equipment or vehicles that are not in safe or suitable working order.
  • Arranging for field equipment maintenance, calibration, repair or replacement and ensuring that it is ready for use.
  • Undertaking inspections of equipment as per MEMS Policies and Procedures.
  • Undertaking and/or coordinating the maintenance of MEMS owned equipment as required.
  • Providing support where needed and working longer hours or on weekends and
  • other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Currently enrolled in a post secondary program in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, Environmental Science or other program applicable to this role or related to services offered by MEMS.

Other Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, as well as the ability to develop working relationships with all areas of the organization.
  • Focused on providing excellence in service delivery.
  • Methodical and systematic, with attention to detail is required.
  • Able to multi-task, establish priorities, work well under pressure and tight deadlines both individually and in a team environment.
  • Basic computer knowledge and an understanding of record keeping.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new technology and skills and
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and be able to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders.

Working Conditions:

  • Prolonged exposure to computer keyboards and computer screens;
  • Manual dexterity required to use laptop and peripherals;
  • Required to walk, stand, climb, bend forward, kneel down, crawl, reach and grasp, push and pull objects, lift and/or move up to 30 kg, sometimes over the shoulders, repetitive bending and lifting of items, along with repetitive arm movements: and
