Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the Senior Human Resources Advisor coordinates various HR/LR supports and information to managers, supervisors and other staff. This position’s concentration includes occupational health, performance process improvements, return-to-work planning and claims cost mitigation, retention, HR/LR guidance to leaders and staff, as well as statistic presentation and tracking.
The Senior Human Resources Advisor works to support and advise a team of Directors, Managers and Coordinators in providing a wide range of human resources services: performance coaching and support, training and development, labour relations support as well as being a main point of contact for Human Resources to all within the organisation. This role works within fast paced, collaborative and supportive Human Resources Department.
A narrow selection of the larger scope and responsibilities for this position are as follows:
- Examine current WCB claims processes to look for cost savings and areas of improvement
- Work with internal and external resources to ensure DEI language and values are accurately implemented throughout the Recruitment process
- Participate in conferences and other recruitment events and meetings, both virtual and face-to-face, to engage candidates and other stakeholders
- Coordinate employee investigations
- Provide HR/LR advice and guidance to the management team including interpretation and administration of the Community Social Services collective agreement.
- Recommend and implement changes to all HR polices and processes.
- Develop collaborative relationships with Director and Management teams and provide high quality and professional service.
- Participate and lead in several key strategic and tactical human resource and organizational initiatives, programs, and projects and designs strategies in conjunction with the Manager and Director of Human and Strategic Resources.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Bachelors' degree in a related discipline such as Human Resources, Business, or Organizational Development.
- CPHR designation preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a human resources generalist in a unionized environment with experience supporting Labour Relations and full-cycle recruitment.
Requirements
- Completion of the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Criminal Record Check.

- Salary $77,313.60
- Work Location 101 – 749 Pandora Ave.
- Work Days Monday – Friday.
- Shift Times 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.
- Weekly Hours: 40 hours.
- Union: Exempt.
- Benefits Eligible for 100% employer paid benefits.
