Location: Stock Bar
Position: Sommelier
Wage: $20/Hour + Tip
Description:
The Sommelier is responsible for understanding the needs of the business on a daily basis and responding to those needs in a timely manner.
Maintaining full stock levels of all storage area’s and customer facing areas.
These areas include:
Third floor:
- storage cages
- white wine fridge
- cellar
- BTB bar fridges
Second floor:
- red wine fridge
- BTB bar fridges
Grocer:
- Bottle shop shelfs
- chiller
- high top rounds
- BTG wine cake stand
P1:
- restocking and filling receivables in this storage room
- general maintenance keeping this area clean and accessible
On the restaurant floor:
The Sommelier will participate in wine service to guests directly by making recommendations, being available on the restaurant floor and following the hospitality and sommelier service standards in an elevated casual dining environment.
Retrieving BTB wines for the service staff in a timely manner.
Mastery of all wine locations is pertinent. The Sommelier will assist with the POS maintenance, report any discrepancies on the BTG & BTB wine list, and assist to rectify the advertised price on the POS for the customers.
You will be responsible for reporting and red dotting any 86’d/sold out wine items, deactivating them from the POS, and informing the service team using the POS communication system.
Grocer:
Stocking the grocer shelves on a regular basis throughout the week. Ensuring all wines are marked with a price and able to ring in successfully. This includes using unique technology, combined with the POS system.
Being available for customers to receive recommendations or encourage sales.
Responsibilities include:
- Consult with customers and assist with wine selection and purchases
- Wine inventory & cellar maintenance
- Wine inventory stocking & control
- Assist & participate in staff wine education
- Heavy lifting required (up to 20kg)
- POS maintenance
