This isn’t a back-office accounting position. You’ll sit at the intersection of finance and operations, working across multiple projects and teams to ensure the financial side of our work runs as well as the technical side.

You’ll be trusted to take ownership, challenge where needed and help operational leaders make better decisions without losing sight of the details that keep everything running.

About the Role

While our Project Accountants’ day-to-day tasks may look different every day, you’ll primarily manage a portfolio of projects across multiple sectors, with responsibility for:

• Leading monthly billing and ensuring accurate, timely revenue capture
• Partnering with Project Managers on contracts, changes, and financial performance
• Monitoring WIP, identifying risks, and improving billing conversion
• Supporting forecasting, budgeting, and project performance insights
• Managing receivables and supporting collections conversations
• Strengthening financial controls and month-end accuracy
• Identifying and driving improvements in systems, reporting, and workflows

You see inefficiencies in billing, reporting, or systems and you do something about them.

This is a role for someone who wants to expand their impact, not just execute tasks.

Your application should show us:

• 5+ years in project accounting, project finance, or professional services
• Strong understanding of billing models (T&M, lump sum, milestones)
• Experience working across multiple projects and stakeholders
• Confidence working with operational leaders (not just finance)
• Solid systems capability (ERP experience; BST is a strong asset)
• Advanced Excel skills
• CPA (or progress toward it) is an asset but not required.
• Past experiences mentoring team members or clients is an asset

ISL is proudly located in over 16 offices across Western Canada.

While this position would ideally be located in Edmonton, we would also consider Burnaby, for the right candidate
