About the role
Khalsa Schools of BC are offering full time teaching positions to K- Grade 12 Gurmat Studies teachers. Khalsa School is an independent Sikh school in British Columbia. We are offering full time teaching positions within our Gurmat (Sikh Studies) Department and the opportunity to set up your own classroom.
The positions we have available for the 2025-2026 school year include:
- Kindergarten to Grade 12: 21 positions - **Punjabi & Sikh Studies teachers **
- Kindergarten to Grade 12: 4 positions - Gurmat Studies teachers
- Kindergarten to Grade 12: 28 positions - Kirtan and Tabla teachers (please indicate on your resume what you can teach)
- Kindergarten to Grade 12: 4 positions - Gatka (Sikh Martial Arts) teachers
- Kindergarten to Grade 12: 8 positions - Priests (Gurdwara Leaders)
You may be placed at a secondary or elementary school.
Please specify in your resume, what, subjects and grade levels you are comfortable teaching and your teaching qualifications for the above listed positions.
Successful candidates will have a Bachelor of Education or a teaching certification from BC (School and Subject Restricted, Subject Restricted or CoQ are all valid). You must be eligible to be employed in Canada. Special attention will be given to applicants who are certified to or can be certified to teach in British Columbia.
Khalsa School is a Sikh school and a part of the student’s education at our schools includes education in the Sikh Faith (Sikh music, history, scriptures). Successful candidates will be working within the religious department.
Position Start Date: Sept. 1, 2025
Job Type: Full-Time
Educational requirements: Bachelor of Education –Successful candidates must have the appropriate certification level, have qualifications and meet requirements to work in Canada.
Applicants with certification to teach in BC will be given preference. If you are certified to teach in another province, you will be considered, granted you apply for BC certification.
