As a Business Systems Analyst, you will develop and maintain systems and support the current and future use of technology in Facilities. Primary duties include:
- Lead development, upgrades and maintenance projects for new and existing systems and applications.
- Collaborate with Facilities staff to analyze problems, identify possible solutions, design and implement systems to meet the business units needs.
- Ensure application Stewards and developers create adequate documentation and training on technical and business processes.
- Provide phone and on-site support to Facilities staff, troubleshoot and diagnose problems with complex systems.
- Provide consulting support for systems controls and methodologies.
- Develop customizations, interfaces, and dashboards to streamline financial and property management work.
- Provide security administration, account set-up services, and assist with remote work set-up.
- Manage network security groups and maintain electronic records in accordance with guidelines and policies.
- Ensure accuracy and quality of data through data scrubbing/conversion projects.
- Complete data models, entity diagrams, and data attribute definitions in conjunction with the Business System Administrator.
- Maintain asset inventory and assist Facilities staff with resource allocation and lifecycle management.
- Coordinate and provide training and assistance to start on the use and maintenance of software.
- Create and maintain documentation of infrequent tasks in text or video format.
Qualifications
- A completed 2-year diploma in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field and at least 5 years of experience in analyzing, developing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting complex business systems; OR
- A degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related degree with at least 4 years of experience in analyzing, developing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting complex business systems.
- Experience in application support and enterprise applications and explaining technical information to non-technical systems users is required.
- Experience developing and supporting a Data Strategy and Data Governance framework.
- Proficiency in writing SQL queries and knowledge of best practices when dealing with relational databases.
- Experience in data analysis and modeling using tools such as Power BI
- Proficiency with the Power BI service, including Power BI desktop, Power BI Report Builder and Power Query along with managing the security and refresh schedules.
- Strong business communication, research, and collaborative skills are essential for the success in this role.

- A security clearance will be conducted.

- Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.
Workstyle
- This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.

Compensation: Pay Grade 11 $46.21 - 61.78 per hour
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week.
Days of work: This position works a 5-day work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
Location: 800 Macleod Trail SE
