Position Summary

The Marketing Coordinator role is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-energy environment, can juggle multiple priorities, and has a passion for creative content development, social media, and writing. In this role, you will support our marketing initiatives by creating compelling content, writing copy for a variety of channels and audiences, and assisting with social media strategy and execution.

This is a Seasonal role ending on July 31, 2026

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Creative Content Development: Work with the marketing team to develop creative and engaging content for various platforms, including web, email, social media, and print. Assist in brainstorming, conceptualizing, and creating visual and written assets to promote Stampede events and activities.
  • Copywriting: Write clear, concise, and engaging copy for a range of marketing materials ensuring that all messaging aligns with the Stampede’s voice and brand tone.
  • Social Media Support: Assist in managing and updating social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, etc.). Monitor engagement, community management, and collaborate with the team to track performance and refine strategies.
  • Coordination and Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure that marketing materials are aligned and deadlines are met. Maintain a flexible approach to meet the evolving needs of the organization.
  • Content Calendar Management: Help maintain and update the marketing content calendar to ensure timely delivery of content across multiple channels. Be prepared to pivot quickly as priorities change.
  • Branding Consistency: Ensure all marketing materials are consistent with the Calgary Stampede’s brand guidelines and contribute to a cohesive overall marketing strategy.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be proactive, optimistic and have worked in a dynamic environment where they have experience delivering on multiple priorities and will hold the following qualifications:

  • Completed or working towards a business degree program (Marketing, Public Relations, Communications)
  • Proven experience in marketing, content creation, or copywriting.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and digital marketing trends.
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and community engagement.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting.
  • A team player with a positive attitude and strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the Calgary Stampede or a keen interest in Western culture and events is a plus.

This position is partially funded by the Government of Canada under the Canada Summer Jobs program. To qualify, participants must be:

(a) between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
(b) a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act*; and
(c) legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.

  • International students are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents.
