FINANCE MANAGER

Maternity Leave Contract – Aug. 2026-July 2027

Full-time (40 hours/1.0 FTE)

Whistler Waldorf School is seeking an experienced and organized Finance Manager for a one-year Maternity Leave Contract with the possibility of accommodation for those outside of the Sea to Sky. This full-time role offers approximately 40 hours per week starting at $30-33/hour (based on qualifications and experience) and requires an in-office schedule Monday to Friday, either 8:00–4:00pm or 8:30–4:30pm. Interested candidates would need to be available in June for paid training and the contract would commence August 24, 2026, till July 9, 2027.

The Finance Manager is responsible for the full-cycle financial operations of the school, including general accounting, accounts receivable and payable, payroll administration, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and support for budgeting and strategic financial planning.

The preferred candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field an asset is preferred although, candidates with a minimum of three years of bookkeeping experience will be considered. Non-profit or school experience is an asset.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial and personnel information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and accounting (QuickBooks) and payroll software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build collaborative working relationships.
  • The ability to legally work in Canada and in possession of a current Criminal Record Check.
