  • Conduct research as required for business case development and analysis.
  • Assist the team with the development of reports, budgets, and forecasts, preparing variance assessments during monthly financial cycles.
  • Collaborate with team members to track project interdependencies and opportunities for optimization.
  • Develop presentations, spreadsheets, and documentation to support monthly financial and project reporting.
  • Assist in documenting and presenting the upcoming four-year budget cycle requirements.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a diploma or degree program in Commerce, Finance, Business, or Technology.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Blueworks.
  • Previous experience in emergency services, telecom, and/or organizational change management (OCM) is an asset.
  • Applicants with Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation certification will be given preference.
  • Proven ability to deliver project analysis work on time while effectively managing resources and collaborating with partners at all levels of business.
  • Success in this position requires the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, emergency services environment.
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills are required.

Pre-Employment Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in school on a full-time basis with the intent to return to school full-time in the Fall of 2026.
  • An enhanced security clearance will be conducted.
  • If invited to an interview, you will be asked to provide an unofficial transcript or an enrollment verification letter (indicating the program and year you are currently completing).

Position and Pay Information

Business Unit: Emergency Management & Community Safety

Union: CUPE Local 38

Position Type: 1 Temporary Student (May - August)

Compensation: $29.82 per hour

Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week.

Days of work: This position works a 5-day work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.

Location: 3705 35 Street NE
