Role Description

We are seeking a Legal Counsel based in Vancouver or Toronto to provide strategic, business-focused legal advice across real estate asset management, development, and property management. The role supports governance, joint ventures, regulatory compliance, and day ‑ to ‑ day legal matters while developing scalable legal practices and precedents. This individual will work closely with cross-functional and global legal teams, contribute to responsible AI governance, and support the use of technology to enhance legal service delivery across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic, forward-thinking legal advice that is focused on the best interests of the business and its clients , with respect to:

• the asset management, property management and development of real estate investments;

• oversight, governance and growth of operating platforms and joint venture relationships ;

• l egal and regulatory compliance matters, including privacy, anti-money laundering securities regulation and l icensing;

• Develop and maintain standard practices, legal documentation precedents, policies and best practices to enhance the efficiency and scalability of the legal function within QuadReal and across our operating platforms .

• Provide legal advice in respect of various issues that may arise from the day -to-day business, including governance, corporate , securities, procurement , operations and cybersecurity .

• Work closely with QuadReal’s tax, finance, communications, HR , IT , compliance , investor services and operations teams to develop, implement and maintain efficient business structures , operational procedures and risk management practices .

• Contribute to the development of best practices for the responsible use of artificial intelligence and other technology solutions , and support the identification and implementation of AI-powered tools and workflows to scale legal service delivery across a growing organization.

• Work and collaborate closely with QuadReal’s legal team based in Vancouver, Toronto, London and New York.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Law or Juris Doctor

• M inimum of 3 years’ relevant experience at a top tier commercial law firm and/ or relevant in-house experience

• Member in good standing with either the Law Society of Ontario or British Columbia

• A strong interest in use of technology within legal practice will be a highly valuable asset in this role

The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $ 150,000 – $170,000

Based on the position, QuadReal offers a competitive total rewards package in addition to the base pay, which may include a performance-based incentive plan, comprehensive health & dental benefits, pension plan, and paid time off.
