About the role

The Hallway Cafe operates as a social enterprise, offering employment readiness training for young people while generating revenue through food and beverage services. As the Catering Service Worker, your primary responsibility is to provide support to the catering business for The Hallway Café. Working collaboratively with the Café Coordinator and Chef Instructors, you are responsible for meeting catering outcomes and delivering an exceptional customer service that encompasses a social focus. Key Responsibilities Social Enterprise

  • Provide support for The Hallway Cafe Program and catering as a social enterprise
  • Support service standards program curriculum for up to 45 youth annually as part of the Employee Readiness Program that is aligned to the goals and objectives of the social enterprise

Catering Services

  • Delivering exemplary customer experience ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty is top priority
  • Maintain presentation techniques and quality standards
  • Establish relationships with local businesses, suppliers and stakeholders

Youth Support

  • Build rapport with the youth, demonstrate compassion and empathy for vulnerable youth
  • Assist in problem solving case management challenges, barriers and concerns with Multi-Disciplinary Team
  • Ensure that youth are following through on program expectations

Health and Safety

  • Ensure e4c and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety standards are followed
  • Comply with agency policy & procedures, health standards, & program operational policies

What You Bring To The Team

  • High School Diploma
  • Certification or Diploma in Hospitality Management or related field is an asset
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a catering setting
  • Previous experience in social enterprise is an asset
  • Proserve Certification (or the ability to obtain this certification prior to the start date)
  • Food Handling Certification
  • WHIMIS
  • First Aid (CPR-AED)
  • Class 5 Drivers License
  • Proficiency in MS Office package and cost management system

Schedule

  • Full Time 30 hour a week with a variety of shifts, and typical shifts are Monday to Friday
