What this role matters
As a Breakfast Server in the Arbutus Room, you set the tone for our guests’ day. With a warm smile, friendly service, and attention to detail, you make mornings feel relaxed yet special. Whether guests are here for a quick bite before heading out or a leisurely start to their day, you make sure the experience is smooth, welcoming, and memorable.
What you'll do
- Greet guests with a genuine, friendly welcome that sets a positive tone
- Share menu highlights and offer suggestions with confidence and ease
- Take and enter orders accurately while being mindful of dietary needs and preferences
- Serve coffee, tea, specialty beverages, and morning cocktails with care and good timing, alongside breakfast dishes
- Stay attentive without being intrusive, making sure guests feel looked after throughout their meal
- Clear and reset tables quickly, keeping the dining room clean and comfortable
- Keep service areas tidy, stocked, and ready so things run smoothly
- Process payments accurately and wrap up each guest’s visit on a positive note
What you'll bring
- At least one year of serving experience, ideally in an upscale restaurant setting
- A confident, service-focused presence with the ability to read the room and make each guest feel at ease
- Strong communication skills and a genuine approach to creating connections with guests
- Comfort working in a busy, team-oriented environment while keeping calm and professional under pressure
- A passion for great food, coffee, and hospitality — with curiosity to keep learning and refining your craft
- Serving It Right (SIR) certification
