We want you to join our roster! DXP/HSE Integrated is looking for an experienced Fire Services Technician to support an upcoming project. We’re looking for skilled professionals with a background in inspection and installation of fire suppression systems, emergency lighting and repairs, recharging and testing fire extinguishers.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Arrive for work well groomed, alert and on time
  • Install, inspect, repair, recharge and test fire suppression systems / fire extinguishers to ensure compliance for purposes of equipment certification
  • Provide support to clients relating to the operational procedures and care of equipment
  • Stay informed and up to date on all current codes and regulations
  • Inventory customer equipment and report any missing or damaged items
  • Collaborate with customers regarding repair costs or sales of equipment
  • Consistently provide excellent customer service
  • Any other duties as assigned by supervisors and/or management

Employees Safety Responsibilities

  • Be familiar with and work in accordance with health and safety legislation and company policies and procedures
  • Take reasonable care to use safety and personal protective equipment as required by health and safety legislation and company policies and procedures
  • Report to HSE Integrated supervision and management immediately any incident or condition believed to be hazardous to worker’s health or safety
  • Refuse the work if danger is imminent or not controlled

Required Qualifications

  • Above average trouble shooting skills
  • Previous experience working with fire suppression equipment, ability to inspect, knowledge of repairs, required maintenance and testing would be an asset but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good vision / hearing

Physically capable of performing the following tasks:

  • Lifting up to 55lbs
  • Pushing / pulling (tools / objects)
  • Sitting / driving
  • Bending / kneeling / crouching
  • Standing / walking for long periods of time

Required Certifications & Training

  • NFPA 10 (Fire Extinguisher Maintenance and Certification)

  • WHMIS & TDG

  • Standard 1st- Aid / CPR

  • Valid unrestricted license with full driving privileges in the province of issue for the specified class of vehicle to be operated on behalf of the company or a higher class of license than that of the vehicle to be operated.

  • HSE Driving program

  • HSE Orientation

  • Conduct equipment maintenance procedures at the field level

  • Work Hub – DXP | HSE Integrated Ltd., policies and procedures, notifications, bulletins

  • Additional training and certifications may be necessary to meet client specifications.
