Role Summary
The Accounts Payable Coordinator plays a key role within the Fund Accounting team and is responsible for the accurate and timely execution of accounts payable activities. Working closely with the Supervisor, Accounts Payable and broader Fund Accounting team, this role supports daily operations, month end processes, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with internal controls and policies.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable Operations
- Perform accounts payable processing, including invoice review, coding, approval tracking, and posting.
- Perform fund accounting payment activities, including distributions, redemptions, management fees, and other operational transfers and payments, within deadlines.
- Process vendor payments via cheque, wire, and electronic payment methods in accordance with established policies and deadlines.
- Maintain accurate vendor records and reconcile vendor statements, investigating and resolving discrepancies as required
- Process incoming payments and support basic accounts receivable transactions, as needed.
- Ensure appropriate documentation is maintained for audit and control purposes.
Reconciliations & Reporting
- Perform account reconciliations, including vendor accounts, inter company and related party transactions, as needed.
- Complete high-volume bank reconciliations and maintain accurate documentation.
- Assist with month end closing activities, reporting, and ad hoc analysis.
Process Improvement & Collaboration
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve accounts payable processes, controls, and efficiency.
Respond to internal and external inquiries related to accounts payable in a professional and timely manner.
- Support the Supervisor Accounts Payable and Fund Accounting team with additional projects and tasks, as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in an accounts payable or related accounting role.
- Post secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience in a fast paced, deadline driven environment preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and high volume workloads.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with a process focused mindset.
- Demonstrates a strong sense of responsibility, personal accountability, and a high level of self-motivation.
- Solid analytical and problem solving abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills; experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP and Mortgage Office is considered an asset.
Working Environment
- Standard office environment.
- Due to settlement and processing timelines, working hours may begin earlier in the day to meet operational requirements.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $52,020–$70,747 per year
- Discretionary bonus eligibility
